Mahindra proves to the Competitors with The Marazzo. Mahindra is back at doing what it does best, which is making big, burly SUVs! And the new model that we drove is a bit special because it is going to be the new flagship from Mahindra. This is the all-new Mahindra Alturas G4. It is basically the fourth generation model of the Ssangyong Rexton and we did happen to drive it in Korea last year.
You also get a dual-zone fully automatic climate control along with 8-way adjustable powered driver seat with memory function. In terms of safety, the Alturas offers 9 airbags on the top-spec trim, which is the four-wheel drive variant and is also best-in-class. You get ABS with EBD and hill assist as standard as well.
The Alturas gets a 2.2-litre diesel engine which makes 178 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 420 Nm Torque between 1,600 to 2,600 rpm. The engine is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission and of course, you get 4X4 as an option. The engine is euro-6 ready and there will be neither a petrol engine or we think there is no future update for this.
The ride quality is slightly on the bouncier side but again, not to the extent of being uncomfortable. The engine might not wow with its performance but is more tuned for heavy duty work.
Also, the handling is not the best in the segment and there is quite pronounced body-roll as well. They have strong competitors are in the market available right now like Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Skoda Kodiaq so Mahindra does lots of hard work to stay in the market. Ford Endeavour has lots of features and also a good handler on the other side Toyota Fortuner has its own reliability and it gains the market and its sale approx 2000 unit per month and Skoda kodiaq have a tough built and spacious interior, Mahindra tries to lot to stay.

Verdict:
There were quite a few things to learn by Mahindra they sell their product separately like Maruti Suzuki they sell their premium product separately in "Nexa" and their other product is the sale in Suzuki "Arena" so Mahindra wants to learn this thing and them sale their premium product in a Different platform. If we sell a Bolero and a Rexton from the same showroom, it won't work.
